Here is the latest design of Julie Peng, the Deflora Mitts and Cowl ! The inspiration behind the fingerless mittens is from one of our teachers, Laura DeFlora. She has recurring skin cancer on the back of her hand and is due for surgery next week. I wanted to make a gift for her to wish her well and to protect her hands. As a tribute to my muse, I’m naming it after her last name. The floral motif is based on the Laura flower (or phlox).
